Four exclusive guitars form the Pro Series 7. Two dreads, one jumbo and one NEX comprise the initial lineup of this high-end series.

When it comes to acoustic guitars, few brands around the world can match the quality and the dedication of Takamine. Endless pursuit of perfection is Takamine`s second name. Takamine is Japan`s premier manufacturer dedicated to the acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. Their catalog consists of two main segments, Pro Series and G Series. G is the segment for budget-friendly guitars, while the Pro Series is reserved for high-end acoustics and acoustic-electrics. For 2013, Takamine introduces a brand new exclusive line of steel-stringed acoustic-electrics under the name Pro Series 7. Models from this line cost from $3,899 to $4,039. Two models are dreadnoughts, one is a jumbo and one is a NEX. P7D, P7DC, P7JC and P7NC make up the series roster. Only the P7Dis a non-cutaway guitar.

Takamine P7D is an exclusive dreadnought guitar with non-cutaway construction. Body of this model is made of solid rosewood back and sides and solid spruce top. Characteristic tone of the Pro Series 7 is owed to the selection of the premium tonewoods, as well as to Takamine`s finest electronics. Palathetic pickup is located in the classic under-saddle position and the CTP-2 Cool Tube preamp is found on the side of the body. Asymmetrical neck on this dread is attached at the standard 14th fret. 20 frets total are found on the exclusive ebony fingerboard. Takamine P7DC is the single-cut variant of the previously reviewed P7D model. Price difference is marginal between these two. P7D costs $3,899, while the P7DC costs $3,949. Solid rosewood and solid spruce are used for body construction. Rosewood is found on the back and sides, wile the spruce resides on top. Rosewood bridge with two-piece bone saddle conceals the Palathetic pickup. In addition to this pickup, P7DC features the CTP-2 Cool Tube preamp. Neck is equipped with the series standard asymmetrical contour in the back and a 20-fret ebony fingerboard on top. Takamine P7DC

Takamine P7JC is the only jumbo-shaped guitar in the current Pro Series 7 lineup. This newly established series offers four pretty uniform guitars and P7JC is one of them. Rosewood and spruce are combined on the body of this single-cut jumbo. Rosewood is on the sides and in the back, while the top is occupied by the solid spruce sound board. Premium electronics package for this series includes the Palathetic pickup installed beneath the belly-shaped rosewood bridge and the side-mounted CTP-2 Cool Tube preamp. 20-fre fingerboard is made of ebony. Takamine P7NC is the fourth and final model in the four-guitar lineup of the newly introduced Pro Series 7. Among these four, this is the only one with the NEX body contour. It is single-cut, flat on top and has acoustic-electric construction. Series standard electronics setup includes the Cool Tube preamp mounted onto the side and the under-saddle Palathetic pickup. Both are made by Takamine. Rosewood back and sides are topped with the standard spruce sound board. Ebony fingerboard on the neck is equipped with 20 frets, snowflake inlays and bone saddle.
