Taylor is introducing the new Limiteds range. Fall 2014 roster boasts four exclusive series with a total of eleven acoustic-electric guitars.
When it comes to limited edition guitars and exclusive materials, no one knows the turf better than Taylor Guitars. This exclusive brand has already established itself at the very top of the custom made and professional level guitar segments of the market. The Fall 2014 collection is just another mind-blowing proof of that claim. There are four series with a total of eleven models. Exquisite 700 series comes with three guitars: 712e 12 Fret-FLTD, 714ce-FLTD and 718e-FLTD. Medium 500 series comes with five steel-stringers: 510e-FLTD, 512ce 12 Fret FLTD, 514ce FLTD, 516ce FLTD and 518e-FLTD. 300 Koa series features two models: 324ce-K FLTD and 326ce-K FLTD. Last, but not the least, GS Mini Koa series comes with only one model, GS Mini-e Koa FLTD.
Taylor 712e 12-Fret FLTD opens up the review section of this article. Also, it is the first model in the three-piece 700 series. It comes with a non-cutaway GC body made of sassafrass back and sides and spruce top. Mahogany neck, Expression 2 electronics and 20-fret ebony fingerboard are also featured. Taylor 714ce-FLTD is an exclusive grand auditorium guitar with sassafras/spruce body, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard and bridge. Also, it features the exclusive Taylor Expression 2 system (shadow piezo pickup and a side-mounted preamp). Taylor tuners are featured on the headstock. Taylor 718e-FLTD rocks the grand orchestra body with non-cutaway construction. Sassafras and spruce are utilized, as well as mahogany and ebony. Exclusive 700 series models also feature the advanced bracing pattern borrowed from the much praised 800 series from the regular section of the catalog. Taylor 510e-FLTD is the only dreadnought in the Fall 2014 Limited segment. It is a non-cutaway dread with blackwood body and spruce top. Ebony bridge with a Taylor piezo pickup, elegant pickguard and a discrete rosette are featured on the top. Mahogany neck is topped with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard. Taylor 512ce 12 Fret FLTD comes with twelve strings over the short 24-7/8” scale and a grand concert body. Blackwood back and sides and a spruce sound board comprise the body. Ebony is used for the bridge and fingerboard, while the neck is made of mahogany. Taylor tuners are standard this fall. Taylor 514ce-FLTD is the series grand auditorium guitar. It has the series standard blackwood back and sides with spruce sound board on top. All of the other standard features, including Taylor tuners, ebony bridge, 20-fret ebony fingerboard and mahogany neck, are present on this model. Taylor 516ce-FLTD rocks the standard blackwood/spruce/mahogany/ebony combination of tonewoods, along with the Taylor hardware and electronics. 16 in it`s name indicates the grand symphony guitar, while the “c” and “e” letters indicate that this is a single-cut guitar with acoustic-electric construction. Taylor 518ce-FLTD is one of five acoustic-electric models from the intriguing 500 Blackwood series. It shares the specs list with other 14th fret (models with the neck joint set at the 14th fret) models of this series. This is the only grand orchestra model on the 500 series roster. Taylor 324ce-K FLTD opens up the 300 Koa series. It is a grand auditorium guitar with a single-cut body and all-koa body construction. Bridge and 20-fret fingerboard are made of ebony, while the neck is made of mahogany. Taylor electronics and hardware complete this exquisite steel-stringer. Taylor 326ce-K FLTD features the same all-koa body, along with the standard bridge, neck and fingerboard.
