Taylor is introducing the super gorgeous and luxurious T5z, a new take on the Taylor`s classic electric/acoustic T5 concept.
Taylor`s T5 electric guitars have always been advertised as electric/acoustic guitars and truly, were the only six-stringers on the market which could be placed in that category. The secret to this is that T5 models were built as electric guitars with fantastic acoustic possibilities, rather than acoustic guitars with added electronics. Fully hollow-bodied single-cuts with Taylor electronics and exclusive tonewoods have always featured the classic Taylor styling and tone, giving far more variety than acoustic-electric models out there. Slim and elegant contour with almost solid body feel, comfortable necks and overall playability gave out it`s electric nature, with hollow-body construction and special electronics in addition to standard pickups adding the acoustic feel. The brand new T5z continues all the good traditions of the T5 series and adds even more versatility and personality. Here in this article, we will look into and review the T5z Custom First Edition.
Taylor T5z Custom First Edition is a luxurious single-cut guitar with a unique position on the market. It occupies the top of the narrow electric/acoustic niche created by previous T5 models. The first edition of this marvelous six-stringer is fit with top grade sapele back and sides and gorgeous Hawaiian koa top. Beneath the standard ebony bridge, there is a piezo pickup (belonging preamp is installed on the side of the guitar), while the regular pickups combo boasts a visible bridge humbucker and a concealed neck humbucker. These pickups can be combined and manipulated through an elaborate controls unit to create a myriad of possibilities. Neck is made of sapele and it features a 21-fret ebony fingerboard on the top. Bone nut, “bend-friendly” 12” radius and gold-plated Taylor tuners wrap the specs. For more info, check T5z Custom First Edition detail page on our site, or on Taylor Guitars official web page.
