Taylor Guitars introduce five all-mahogany models into the 500 series and three mahogany top models into the 300 series.

Taylor is one of the top brands on the acoustic side of the guitar market. For almost four full decades, Taylor has offered exclusive acoustics and acoustic-electrics. Their catalog also includes the series made for common players who can not afford high end steel-stringers. This summer, 300 and 500 series are being updated with new mahogany models. Five all-mahogany 500 models are: 520, 522, 524, 526 and 528. On the other side, 300 series novelties only feature mahogany tops, while retaining their sapele backs and sides. Their names are: 320, 322 and 324.

Taylor 320 opens up the reviews section of this article. It is a brand new dreadnought from Taylor with fully acoustic construction and non-cutaway design, though the single cutaway and Taylor`s electronics can be ordered optionally. Sapele back and sides are topped with solid mahogany sound board, which gives even more strength to the already amazing tone. Ebony bridge with TUSQ saddle is matched with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with 1-3/4" TUSQ nut. 25-1/2" scale, Taylor tuners and mahogany neck complete the specs. Taylor 322 is the second of three models introduced into the 300 series this summer. It comes with the standard sapele-made back and sides and mahogany top. Neck on this model is the standard one, it`s made of mahogany and it`s attached at the 14th fret. Cutaway and electronics are optionally available on 322. Ebony bridge with TUSQ saddle si matched with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with TUSQ nut. 24-7/8" scale and Taylor tuners wrap the specs. The MSRP for this model is set at $1.598. Taylor 324 is the third and final 300 series update this time. As it`s other two siblings, it too retains the sapele back and sides and combines them with solid mahogany top. Being a fully acoustic guitar, this model comes with non-cutaway body, though the cutaway and electronics can be optionally ordered. mahogany neck is topped with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard. Taylor 320

Taylor 520 is the second dreadnought introduced this time and it is the only one with all-mahogany construction. Mahogany is used for back, sides, top of the body, as well as for the neck. Ebony is used only for the belly-shaped bridge and 20-fret fingerboard. Taylor 522 is the grand concert variant of the newly introduced all-mahogany 50 series range. It comes with all-solid construction and high quality Taylor hardware. Besides mahogany, only other wood used is the ebony. Belly-shaped bridge and 20-fret fingerboard are made of it. Standard-sized frets, century inlays, 1-3/4" TUSQ nut and ivoroid binding complete the fingerboard. This model also features 24-7/8" scale, chrome-plated tuners and combined gloss/satin finish. Taylor 524 is the grand auditorium installment in the 500 mahogany series. Back, sides of the body, top and the entire neck with headstock are made of mahogany. This ensures a strong and warm tone with a super strong low end. Also, thanks to the all-so0lid construction, 500 mahogany series models have exceptional sustain. Taylor 524

Taylor 526 rocks the famous grand symphony contour. This body shape was made for symphonic orchestra players, but has evolved into a desirable solo instrument due to it`s exceptional size/power ratio. Taylor maximizes the power of this model by giving it mahogany body and mahogany neck. All body panels, as well as the neck are made of solid mahogany. Taylor 528 is the grand orchestra model of the series. Grand orchestra is one of the most recent additions to the standard body contours lineup. 500 mahogany series with bodies and necks made of solid mahogany makes it supremely powerful guitar, despite it`s somewhat smaller size (when compared to dread and jumbo).
