Ibanez unveiled one electric guitar, one electric bass and one acoustic guitar. All three belong to the upper class of their respective divisions.
Spring 2012 is judging by the novelties presented by Ibanez, not only a busy, but also a very fruitful period of year. There are three new models. Electric guitar section expands the RG Premium division with it`s first fixed-bridge axe, one and only RG921QMF. In the electric bass section, the SR series went six-string with a thunderous SR1206E. And the acoustic EW series got a brand new acoustic-electric in shape of EW35SPENT. These three musketeers are bound to expand the Ibanez territories on all three fronts with their exceptional craftsmanship and tones.
Ibanez RG921QMF is a new RG Premium model, and it was made by a popular request. Thus far, this division featured tremolo-equipped models exclusively, but from now on, fixed bridge fans will have their model in RG Premium. This is the line of the workhorse guitars made for studio and stage abuse on daily basis. RG921QMF is no exception with it`s tough basswood body and quilted maple top. In the pickups department Ibanez went for DiMarzio passive humbuckers in both positions to ensure this racer never runs out of gas. Five pieces of maple and walnut neck are bolted to the body and topped with a 24 jumbo-fretted rosewood fingerboard. Ibanez SR1206E is a six-stringed addition to highly acclaimed SR series of Ibanez basses. This colossus boasts a solid, double cutaway body made of mahogany back and ovangkol top. Satin finish, gold-plated hardware and the omission of pickguards only add up to the jaw-dropping beauty of the ovangkol top. six-saddle monorail bridge is fully adjustable and guarantees for a rock solid stability. Nordstrom supplies a pair of huge single coil pickups which pack thunder within their coils. Wenge and bubinga make up the five-piece neck which is bolted to the body. rosewood fingerboard comes with 24 medium sized frets and oval abalone inlays. Ibanez EW35SPENT is the latest installment in the Exotic Woods series of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. These models come with some unusual and rare wood combinations, and EW35SPENT is no different. It brings sapele pomele back, sides and top panel. The bridge is made of rosewood and equipped with Ivorex II saddle. B-Band under-saddle pickup and preamp with side-mounted control panel comprise the electronics section. Control panel features volume, three-band equalizer, anti-feedback control, phase,chorus and a chromatic tuner. mahogany neck is attached to the body at the 14th fret and topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
