Gibson unveils Rudolph Schenker V, ES-335 andES-339 Studio variants.

Triple Treat from Gibson USA and Gibson Memphis

A new signature model for one of rock`s greatest axemen and a pair of Studio semi-hollows are being introduced from Gibson`s USA and Memphis divisions.

Gibson is introducing three new models into the standard section of the catalog. One of them, the Rudolph Schenker Flying V offers the vintage styling and familiar Scorpions range of tones. It comes with luxurious hardware and supreme pickups wrapped in the vintage-styled Flying V package. On the other side, the ES segment makes the first contact with the Studio tier, which has thus far been reserved for the solid axes in Gibson USA catalog. Most prominent were, and still are, Les Paul Studio variants. Only time will tell will the ES-335 Studio and ES-339 Studio manage to change the balance in the favor of semi-hollows. Judging by the tone and build quality and playability, these semi-hollow six-stringers are bound for glory.

Gibson USA Rudolph Schenker Flying V is a solid, V-shaped guitar with characteristic black & white theme. Body and neck are both made of mahogany, Gibson`s most standard tonewood and are accompanied by the granadillo fingerboard. Solid and flat body is topped with a classic two-piece bridge section and a pair of Gibson`s '57 Classic humbuckers. Regular '57 is in the neck, while the bridge position is reserved for the '57 Plus. These bad boys provide the entire range of signature Scorpions tones and are backed up by all-mahogany construction for the ultimate sustain. Granadillo fingerboard is installed over the custom-contoured mahogany neck and features 22 frets with acrylic inlays. The MSRP is set at $2,498.
