Warwick and Framus launch new basses and guitars at this year`s NAMM. Three basses and four guitars are being introduced.
Warwick and Framus, the dynamic duo from Germany is on the roll in recent years, as the sales figures and reputation around the world are on the constant rise. Both Warwick and Framus are constantly expanding their catalogs with new and fresh models and series, as well as introducing new signature artists. For NAMM 2014, Warwick rode out to battle with three novelties, while Framus launched four new six-stringers. Warwick`s new guns are: Fortress LTD 2014, Fortress LTD 5 2014 and RockBass Artist Line Bootsy Collins Space Bass. Framus introduces new series, the Idolmaker with two models: Idolmaker and Idolmaker Five R. Stevie Salas Signature and Wolf Hoffmann Artist Series complete the novelties roster for Framus.
Warwick Fortress LTD 2014 is a soilid and double-cut bass with the classic Warwick design and construction. This exquisite four-stringer features swamp ash body with the birdseye poplar top. Bolted wenge neck sports the regular four-string contour in the back and is topped with a birdseye maple fingerboard. Warwick Fortress LTD 5 2014 is the five-string variant of the upper mentioned and reviewed Fortress LTD 2014 model. It comes with a swamp ash/poplar body and bolted wenge neck with birdseye maple fingerboard on the top. Passive Nordstrand pickups are installed in the electronics section, while the hardware section is fit with Warwick tuners and two-piece bridge. Third and final bass update from Warwick is the funkadelic RockBass Artist Line Bootsy Collins Space Bass. It is a star-shaped four-stringer with simple construction and flashy design and styling. pace Bass rocks the solid mahogany body and the bolt-on maple neck. Bridge and middle pickup are installed in the H/S configuration and are manipulated through a simple controls unit. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard tops the maple/ekanga neck. Framus Stevie Salas Signature Idolmaker is a solid-bodied six-stringer with elegant styling a nd vintage design. Double-cut body of this model is based on the Idolmaker series and is constructed of mahogany base and quilted maple top. Set in neck is made of maple and it rocks the tigerstripe ebony fingerboard on the top. Seymour Duncan `78/Phatcat combo is installed in the pickups section. Framus Idolmaker is one of four novelties introduced by Framus at this year`s NAMM show. It is one of two models in the initial Idolmaker Series lineup. Solid and double-cut mahogany body is topped with the flamed maple top. Set in mahogany neck is fit with the standard 22-fret ebony fingerboard. Framus Idolmaker 5 R is the second of two models which comprise the first Idolmaker series lineup. It comes with a solid and vintage-styled alder/flamed maple body and set in maple neck with standard contour in the back. Passive Nordstrand pickups with coil-split ability and the single-piece wrap around bridge are featured on the top. 22-fret rosewood fingerboard tops the maple neck. Seventh and last review in this article is the review of the mesmerizing Wolf Hoffmann Artist Series model. It is largely the same as the German-made Wolf Hoffmann Signature model. It comes with a solid V body made of maple wings and maple neck in the middle. EMG 81 in the bridge and SA in the neck form the pickups combo for this model (same as on the signature model). 24-fret ebony fingerboard completes the specs list.
