Washburn Guitars reinforce their positions with a new sub-brand named Parallaxe Guitars. This brand is completely devoted to metal guitars.
Parallaxe is a new and fresh player on the market. They will compete in the mid and upper-mid sections of the market with all of their models ranging from $750 to $1,300 retail price. A total of three series and thirteen models comprise the initial lineup of the catalog. Washburn has assigned five models to the PXM series: PXM20EF, PXM20FR, PXM27EC, PXM10FR and PXM18EB. PXS series has six models: PXS20FR, PXS20EC, PXS10EDLX, PXS10FRDLX, PXS10EC and PXS10FRQTR. PXL series only contains two models: PXL20 and PXL10. PXM and PXS series deal with double-cut guitars, while the PXL has only single-cuts. Parallaxe Guitars is Washburn`s attempt to get back in the game with metal-oriented guitars. All PXM and PXS models have 24-fret ebony fingerboards, PXLs have 22 frets. Also, all thirteen guitars come with Grover tuners, Buzz Feiten tuning system, dual humbucker pickups configuration and black hardware.
Parallaxe PXM20EF is a solid, double-cut guitar from the PXM series. It`s made of alder back and flame maple top. It comes in black with matte finish and black hardware. Set in maple neck is topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with custom 12th fret inlay. EMG pickups on this marvelous axe are backed up by a tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction. Parallaxe PXM20FR is a Floyd Rose variant of the above reviewed PXM20EF. It has a mahogany body with flame maple top and set in maple neck. Instead of the EMG81 and 85, this PXM rocks Seymour Duncan`s TB6 in the bridge and Jazz in the neck position. 24-fret ebony fingerboard has a custom 12th fret inlay and super jumbo frets. Parallaxe PXM27EC is the only seven-string model in the PXM series. It features an alder-made double-cut body with a set in mahogany/maple neck. Parallaxe PXM10FR is one of five models in the PXM series. It is a blue-clad six stringer made of mahogany back with quilt maple top. PXM10FR features a double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo system with Seymour Duncan TB6 and Jazz humbuckers installed in the front. Bolt-on maple neck is topped with a 24-fret fingerboard made of ebony.
