AS-691B is one strange contraption made by Aria Guitar Company. This one is situated within the AS series of acoustic basses, even though it has only a composite rim which resembles the guitar shape and central block made of mahogany. Also, it is a headless four stringer and tuning machines are situated near the bottom of the central mahogany block. Controls for amplification found their home on the block, as well. Natural mahogany and See-Through Black color options are available. There are no such things as binding, pickguard and sound hole rosette on this ultra modern bass. Bridge is made of rosewood and strings run through the mahogany block. neck is made of maple and it sports a 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. String nut is 1.57" wide.
