Ovangkol is African rosewood and it shares the basic frame of tonal properties with Indian rosewood, but it represents a slightly more exotic option, reserved for small series and exclusive models. Ebony, which is also abundantly used on this model is a sign of class. This tag comes from the prewar guitars, which had ebony bridges and fingerboards as high class marks. DYM96 features both of these woods, ovangkol is on the side and back panels and it`s combined with spruce sound board. Natural colored body is finished in satin. Ebony is used for the mustache bridge and fingerboard. Fingerboard has 20 frets with a custom 12th fret position inlay. Neck is made of mahogany, which is the most common and standard tone wood used on this particular model. Hardware is plated in gold on this dread.
