The Masterworks series is a line of intermediate and upper intermediate-class acoustic guitars. It is located above the Artist series, but below the exclusive Alvarez-Yairi range (models of this range are hand-made in Japan). The currently available lineup has ten models, four dreadnoughts, four folk models, and two parlors. MD60EBG is one of the dreads, it offers a non-cutaway body, high-quality amplification (the elegant LR Baggs VTC pickup/preamp system), 25-1/2" scale, and classic looks. Main features include solid African mahogany back & sides, solid AA Sitka spruce top, and 14th fret dovetail neck joint. Alvarez sells this one in Natural Gloss, with herringbone binding, tortoiseshell pickguard, and nickel hardware. Other notable features include a solid mahogany neck, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, and open-gear tuning machines.
