Applause comes to the market as Ovation subsidiary with a strong focus on lower portions of the price range. It offers basically the same models as Ovation, but with guitars made of more affordable materials and free of fancy decorations. AA21 is the top model of the AA series and it comes with a recognizable non-cutaway variant of dreadnought shape. It`s back and sides are made of composite materials and they are combined with a glossy spruce top. Bridge on this model is made of rosewood and the neck is made of maple. Electronics on AA21 consist of an under-saddle piezo pickup with a side-mounted preamp. The neck is set and covered with a rosewood fingerboard. Fingerboard features 20 frets, dot position inlays and 1.6535" wide synthetic bone nut.
