Applause is Ovation`s budget-oriented sub-brand, and the lowest of three main sections of the Ovation catalog (Adamas is the top, while Ovation represents the mid-section). Applause models are based on the regular Ovation designs and construction, only with cheaper hardware and electronics. Also, Applause models come in with cheaper tonewoods. Applause Elite Mid Depth AE44II-VV comes in with a single-cut Lyrachord body (mid depth style, w/offset soundholes and 22-fret fingerboard). Vintage Varnish (w/varnish finish, ABS binding, chrome-plated hardware) is the only available color option. Other features include a composite back bowl, spruce top, nato neck, 22-fret ovangkol fingerboard (10" radius, dot inlays, 25-1/4" scale, 1-11/16" ABS nut), fixed ovangkol bridge, Applause by Ovation pickup/preamp system, and die-cast tuners.
