C980T is one of three jumbo-shaped models in Cobalt line of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. For this series, Carvin made fourteen models, of which eleven are dreadnoughts. All three of jumbo models feature cutaway and electronics. Also, jumbos are more luxurious and expensive than dreadnoughts. C980T comes with a jumbo cutaway shaped body which is made of rosewood back and sides and solid spruce top. Top is bound in abalone and equipped with abalone rosette. Bridge is made of rosewood and it comes with TUSQ saddle. Both the under-saddle pickup and side-mounted preamp are made by Fishman. Neck is made of solid mahogany and it is attached to the body at the standard 14th fret. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it comes with 20 medium-sized frets with dot inlays.
