AXS Series is Dean`s representative in the beginner segment. It brings a variety of body styles and a wide selection of tonewoods. Mahogany, quilt ash, spalted maple and several others can be found in the series` lineup. AXS Spalt comes with a classic Dean body with a deep contour and a generous cutaway. Back and sides are made of laminated mahogany, while the top is made of spruce (spalt maple grain is, in fact, just a graphic glued onto the spruce top). Modern rosewood bridge is fitted with a plastic saddle and plastic string pins. Beneath the saddle, there`s a pickup which is connected to the side-mounted DMT preamp. Preamp features a 3-band equalizer and a tuner. Mahogany neck is topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
