Folk series of acoustic and acoustic-electric instruments is growing bigger and stronger every year. It was made several years ago in an effort to expand and diversify Dean Guitars catalog. Decision to introduce bluegrass and folk instruments to the catalog proved to be very good and lucrative. For 2013 Dean Guitars introduce three new models into the series and Bluegrass F/E Mandolin is one of them. This gorgeous little mandolin is acoustic-electric and sports the beautiful F-styled body. It is made of maple back and sides with spruce sound board on top. Top panel is decorated with traditional appointments, such as creme binding, elevated black pickguard and a pair of "f" holes. There`s only one color option available for this mandolin: Vintage Sunburst. Neck is made of maple and it`s equipped with a standard contour in the back. It`s attached to the body via the dovetail joint. On it`s top Dean installs a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and 1-1/8" wide string nut. Electronics department includes a piezo pickup installed under the bridge and a side-mounted preamp. Bridge is fixed and made of rosewood. Behind it, there`s a trapezoid tailpiece.
