Newporter Pro Custom for 2014 is one of the most exclusive models of the acoustic side of the Fender catalog. It belongs to the famous Acoustic Custom Shop series, along with several Kingman and other Newporter six-stringers. Entire 000-sized body of this marvelous Newporter is made of solid mahogany. Back, sides and the top are made of it (among the acoustic guitar brands, mahogany is the most popular material for this kind of "uniformed" construction). Mahogany gives this Newporter a strong and warm tone with a very good projection (thanks to the forward shifted bracing made of red spruce). Despite the lack of the cutaway, Newporter Custom Pro`s upper frets can easily be reached. Electronics department is equipped with a high quality Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup/preamp system. Preamp is fit with a standard set of controls, including the volume, tone controls (bass, mid, treble), tuner and others. Maple neck is bolted to the body, instead of being attached through a classic dovetail joint. It rocks the 1960s Strat contour in the back and the large headstock from the same period. On it`s top, there is a 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Die-cast tuners on the headstock complete the specs list.
