The introduction of Paramount series is one of the steps Fender has taken recently in order to solidify the upscale side of the acoustic catalog. The new series contains five models, all equipped with Fishman/Fender electronics and exclusive solid tonewoods. Also, all of the PM models have historically accurate details such as tortoise shell pickguards and abalone & mother-of-pearl Concert tone inlays. PM-1 Deluxe Dreadnought is the more expensive of two dreadnoughts in the series lineup. It features all of the exclusive PM appointments and is available in two color schemes - Natural and Vintage Sunburst. PM-1 Deluxe Dreadnought is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with a full-sized body and standard 25-3/10" scale. Back and sides are made of solid mahogany, while the top is made of spruce. Also solid. The top is encircled with elegant binding and embellished with a checkered rosette. C-shaped mahogany neck is attached at the 14th fret and has a 20-fret ebony fingerboard on top. 1.69" bone nut, 15-3/4" radius and vintage inlays comprise the fingerboard. This PM-1 dread comes with a series standard electronics unit. It is comprised of a piezo pickup (located under the saddle) and a Fishman preamp (side of the body). The preamp is a simple one - it features a tuner, bass, treble and volume pots. Compensated ebony bridge and aged nickel tuners complete the specs list. Retail price for PM-1 Deluxe Dreadnought is around $1,000.
