PM in the name of the new Fender acoustics stands for paramount, the top, the best. This series is envisioned as an option for players who are looking to step up their game in the studio and on the stage. A set of six models, three Deluxe and three Standard, comprises the initial series lineup. Vintage design, vintage styling and modern playability and construction are the main features of the series. PM-1 Standard Dreadnought is the more affordable of two dreads. Consequentially, it comes with simpler decorations and rosewood fingerboard and bridge (Deluxe models have them made of ebony).
PM-1 Standard Dreadnought is a non-cutaway guitar with full-sized body, 25-3/10" scale and combined Fishman/Fender electronics. The body of this affordable six-shooter is made of solid mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce sound board. The neck is attached at the 14th fret and is also made of mahogany. Rosewood fingerboard on its top has MOP dot inlays, 1.69" bone nut and 15.75" radius.
Series standard electronics unit includes an under-saddle piezo pickup and a side-mounted preamp (volume, bass, treble, phase switch, tuner). Fixed rosewood bridge with a compensated bone saddle and nickel-plated tuners complete the specs list.
