Parlor is one of the body shapes which predates both the ubiquitous dreadnought and jumbo (the most popular shapes of today). It is smaller, easier to play and has its own, distinct signature tone. It was used by virtually every blues man out there who roamed the world in the 1800s and early 1900s. It is still used today in a wide variety of styles and genres, mostly for non-amplified performance. Fender`s luxurious Paramount series includes a pair of Parlor guitars, the posh PM-2 Deluxe and more down-to-earth-but-still-fancy PM-2 Standard.
PM-2 Standard comes with a non-cutaway parlor body (all PM models are non-cutaway acoustic-electrics), combined Fender/Fishman electronics and short 24-3/4: scale. The body of this timeless six-string is made of solid mahogany (back and sides) and solid spruce (sound board). Mahogany is also used for the C-shaped neck. Classic 12th fret neck joint in the back and a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard on top complete the neck.
Standard piezo pickup under the compensated bridge saddle and a side-mounted Fender/Fishman PM preamp comprise the electronics unit. Instead of a big preamp hole, PM system has a minute display section and separate control slots. Compensated rosewood bridge and nickel-plated tuners complete the specs list.
