Fender`s California Series of models brings affordable instruments with solid quality and great value for the money. Dreadngought shaped models come with or without cutaways and have Strat necks, Fishman electronics and rosewood bridges. Redondo CE is a new model for 2012 and it came just in time for the NAMM Show in Anaheim, Ca. It starts off as a cutaway dreadnought model made of laminated spruce top and laminated mahogany back and sides. This is a flat top model and it features multi-ply binding, checkerboard rosette and cream colored pickguard. The bridge on this model is a Viking shaped rosewood bridge with compensated saddle. Bridge pins are white with black dots and saddle is made of synthetic bone. Electronics consist of Fishman Isys III preamp with on-board tuner and side-mounted control panel. The neck is a strat c-shaped maple neck with standard Strat headstock. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and bound in white. It features 20 frets and dot position inlays. The string nut on this fingerboard is made of synthetic bone and is 1.625" wide. The scale measures at standard 25-1/3 inches of length. The MSRP for Redondo CE is set at $399.99.
