Top Hat Resonator is a brand new model from Fender Guitars and it is situated within the worldwide famous Folk Instruments series. It is a traditionally designed and constructed resonator guitar with vintage styling and hardware. This one`s fully acoustic, as Fender installs no pickups, preamps or microphones on, or inside the body. Body is a classic non-cutaway resonator body made of laminated wood. Laminated mahogany is used for the back and sides, while the top is made of laminated maple. Sound board is bound in aged white binding and has the traditional dual holes on both sides of the fingerboard. Resonator cone is made of hand spun eastern European aluminum and has the traditional Maple Biscuit bridge with synthetic bone saddle on it. As it was said in the beginning of this review, Fender installs no electronics onto, or within this resonator, for the aim is set at players who like their resonators purely acoustic. Neck is made of mahogany and has a very comfortable rounded C contour in the back with a French heel. On it`s top, there is a 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Set of Fender`s own tuning machines is installed on the Tele headstock. The MSRP for this fantastic resonator six-stringer is set at $349.99.
