J-165 CE is an acoustic-electric model from Gibson`s renowned Small Body series. It features a single cutaway jumbo shaped body, which is made of rosewood back and sides with spruce top cover. The top is bound in creme binding and equipped with an abalone rosette. Also, there is a tortoise shell pickguard on the top. In the bridge section, Gibson installs a belly-shaped rosewood bridge with bone string saddle. Fishman provides the electronics unit for J-165 EC. It consists of Aura Pro pickup and preamp. Neck is made of mahogany, and it comes with a dovetail joint. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it features following appointments: 18 medium-sized frets, split parallelogram position inlays and bone string nut. Other features include Grover tuners and 25-1/2" scale.

I love this Gibby. She's handsome and she nearly plays by her self, once you get the action right. I use 0.11 strings on her, quite thin. If you are looking for an acoustic guitar with a great sound, you'll find a lot off guitars that sound way better than the j165. When you plug her in an amp or desk, that's when she starts showing her skills, that's when she starts sounding great. She's an excellent guitar to perform with. Yes, she's picking up feedback and that really adds to the sound. She's the kind off guitar you can sit down with and play the blues. Nice and light, lovely guitar.
