Godin`s electro-acoustic guitars have a special place in the world of guitars as some of the finest examples how one guitar can feature the best of both worlds, resonance and great tone of acoustics, and lack of feedback solid bodies have. At NAMM 2012 Godin unveiled Multiac Steel Duet Ambiance is a semi-acoustic guitar with a single cutaway. It has a body made of mahogany back and sides and solid spruce top. The top features no pickguards, or sound holes. Red color is the color of choice for this model, and it comes with a gloss finish. The bridge on this model is acoustic guitar bridge, and is made of rosewood with a belly shape, white string pins and saddle. In the electronics department, Fishman aura setup with under-saddle transducer is taking care of the amplification. Controls for this combo are placed at the upper bout of the guitar, which is a standard Multiac feature. Fingerboard is also made of rosewood and it`s equipped with 22 frets and offset dot position inlays. This Multiac is steel stringed and made for live on-stage performance.

Sadly, I am not impressed with this guitar. Whilst the build quality is very good, I find it not an easy guitar to play. Tried different gauge strings and made adjustments to fret board etc but still cannot get to grips with the feel of the action. I also feel the tonal quality through a laney acoustic amp is not as good as I had expected. Shame as I really wanted this guitar but I find my Takemine EF440C a nicer guitar to play and much better tone through the amp. Anyone want to buy a 3 week old Duet steel in red? TKMS
