D-40 Standard acoustic is a model from Guild`s Traditional series of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. It is one of the basic dreads in Guild catalog and it comes with a full-sized, non-cutaway body made of mahogany and spruce. Mahogany is used for the back and side panels, while the spruce is used for the sound board. Top panel on this dread is equipped with ivoroid binding, tortoise shell pickguard and triple circle rosette. This is completed with a set of six chrome-plated tuning machines installed on the headstock. Bridge section features a classic belly-contoured bridge made of rosewood. Mahogany neck is slim and narrow and features a regular 14th fret dovetail joint. Fingerboard installed upon this neck is equipped with 20 medium-sized frets with dot inlays.
