AEW (and its AEWC subdivision) is a close sibling of the luxurious AE series, with which it loosely shares the platform. Both series were introduced very recently, in an effort to energize and modernize Ibanez`s mostly conservative acoustic guitar catalog. The results thus far are more than encouraging and promising, with AE and AEW series combined coming into 2018 with 10 new models (seven AE and three AEW). The new AEWC4012FM is available in Tiger Burst High Gloss (w/chrome hardware, abalone rosette, black plastics, combined gloss/satin finish). Core construction features include a single-cut AEW body (Florentine cutaway, flame maple back/sides/top, abalone binding), a mahogany neck (AEW profile, 14th fret joint), a rosewood fingerboard (24.96" scale, 15.75" radius, 1.77" nut), a rosewood bridge, combined Fishman/Ibanez electronics, and die-cast tuners.
