M522 is an acoustic mandolin from the Mandolins series in Ibanez catalog. Even though being a Japanese manufacturer, Ibanez maintains a strong section of American folk and traditional instruments, due to the fact that US market is arguably the most important one for Ibanez. M522 comes with a single cutaway body design. It`s back and sides are made of maple, while the top is made of spruce. This spruce top is finished in gloss over the brown sunburst paint job. "f" holes are featured on the either side of the compensated rosewood bridge. This bridge is paired with a trapezoid tailpiece. Neck on this eight-string mandolin is made of maple and it features a dovetail joint. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it comes with 24 frets with block inlays.
