Among the updates for 2012, Martin Guitars have brought us some very exclusive models, such as D-28 Mamas and the Papas dreadnought, GPCPA Koa and this, DCPA Koa dreadnought. GPSCPA Koa will be made in only fifteen copies, while the DCPA enjoys even more exclusivity, as only eleven will be made. Same as for GPCPA Koa, DCPA will be distributed only through retailers present at the NAMM Show this year. DCPA Koa starts off with a highly flamed Hawaiian koa back and sides and solid spruce top. The top of this guitar is bound in solid Madagascar rosewood, and features a style 28 sound hole rosette. There are no pickguards for this model and it comes in natural color with gloss finish. The bridge is made of solid ebony with belly shape, fossilized mammoth ivory string pins and tusq ivory. The electronics setup is the same as on the GPCPA Koa, it is made up of Fishman F1 Aura Plus system with master volume and master tone control knobs mounted onto the side of the guitar. The neck is made of mahogany with a performing artist contour and dovetail joint set at 14th fret. The ebony fingerboard sports 20 frets, tree of life position inlays and 1-3/4" bone string nut. The MSRP for DCPA Koa is set at $11,999.
