Martin Guitars have updated their catalog for 2012 with numerous new models, and the series which received the largest number of novelties is Performing Artist. This series has a primary task of providing high quality options for players who perform on stage frequently. GPCPA 1 Madagascar Rosewood is just one of several Performance Artist updates introduced at the NAMM Show this January. it starts out as a grand concert cutaway model with a body made of solid Madagascar back and sides and solid spruce top. The top is bound in grained ivoroid and equipped with tortoise pickguard with teardrop shape and style 45 rosette. The bridge is made of solid black ebony with belly shape, white string pins and TUSQ saddle. In the electronics section, Fishman F1 aura plus setup is in command. It is complemented with side mounted volume and tone control knobs. The neck is made of select hardwood with performing artist contour and dovetail neck joint set at the 14th fret. The fingerboard on this grand concert is made of solid black ebony and has 20 frets with torch inlays and 1-3/4" bone string nut. The MSRP for GPCPA 1 Madagascar rosewood is set at $6,499.00.
