1798-FKOA 4 is one of four limited edition models introduced by Ovation for 2013 NAMM exhibition. It is also one of two koa-topped guitars. Standard construction of this model includes Lyrachord body contours and deep composite bowl in the back. Ovation has switched entirely to composite bowls decades ago and is still the only major manufacturer to use them. Sides and back of Ovation`s models are merged into one bowl made of composite materials. This allows for more natural flow and resonance. Top panel on this model is made of solid koa, which instantly launches this beautiful six-stringer to the top of the catalog. Beautiful and elegant binding is applied around the koa top and Ovation`s luthiers have designed a special offset sound hole with oval shape. Bridge has standard shape and it`s made of ebony. Ovation`s pickup and preamp are installed in the electronics department. Neck is made of five pieces of mahogany and maple, thus providing additional complexity to the overall tone. It`s topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard. Ovation`s gold-plated tuning machines, 25-1/4" scale and 10" fingerboard radius complete the specs list. This one will only be available in 30 copies.
