Collector`s Series has been around for over three decades, usually in an on-and-off fashion. The current incarnation of the legendary range offers a multitude of models, mostly based on the C2078 and C2079 platforms. The main thing, the common feature of all Collector`s Series models is the use of exotic top woods. Some have proper exotic tops, while the others have exotic wood veneers over a solid spruce top. Collector`s Series Deep Contour C2078AXP-SP is one of eleven models based on the C2078 concept. It offers a single-cut Lyrachord body (composite back, solid spruce top w/striped padauk veneer), a 5-piece mahogany/maple neck (14th fret joint), a 22-fret ebony fingerboard (25.25" scale, 10" radius), a fixed ebony bridge, Ovation electronics, and die-cast tuners.
