EG540DLX is an acoustic-electric guitar from the NEX line of guitars, which is situated in the G section of Takamine catalog. This one comes with single cutaway NEX body and TK40 preamp installed onto the shoulder of the body. Body is made of sapele and spruce. Sapele is used for back and side panels and spruce for sound board. Sapele is a fantastic all-round player in the team and goes well with pretty much everything else. It has very similar tonal profile as mahogany, with the difference being that sapele has a bit more treble. Spruce brings the snap and overall liveliness to the tone. White binding, black pickguard and abalone rosette are found on the top. Bridge is made of rosewood and it rocks a standard belly contour. 20-fret fingerboard is also made of rosewood.
