100 series is the basic line in the acoustic and acoustic-electric range of the Taylor brand and it`s task is to provide the introduction into the catalog. For the summer of 2014, Taylor introduces one of the most affordable twelve-stringers with acoustic-electric construction ever made, the mighty 150e. This twelve-string wonder comes with a laminated sapele body with laminated spruce sound board on the top. Despite the laminated construction, this non-cutaway dreadnought boasts an enviable level of tonal strength and projection. Gorgeous natural color scheme with varnish finish and chrome hardware is a standard in the 100 series. Also, black binding around the top and black pickguard are featured. Bridge on the top is the standard one, it`s belly-contoured and made of ebony. On it`s top, there`s a TUSQ saddle. Taylor`s Expression system is used in the electronics department (traditionally, Taylor installs their own electronics). Preamp is fit with all the standard controls and features. Mahogany neck is set in and has the standard oval contour in the back. On it`s top, there is a 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony. 1-7/8" TUSQ nut, dot inlays and Taylor`s die-cast tuners wrap the specs list.
