Taylor Limited Series arrive every Spring and Fall and bring exotic materials along with some interesting construction solutions. This Spring Cocobolo 800 series of acoustic-electric guitars arrive and bring exclusive features. The series consists of two models: 814ce-LTD grand auditorium and 816ce-LTD grand symphony model. 816ce-LTD comes with a cutaway body made of cocobolo back and sides and spruce top. The top is bound in curly maple and adorned with a tortoise shell pickguard. Sound hole rosette is adorned with an abalone rosette. This model comes in natural color with a thin coat of satin finish for maximum tone projection. The bridge comes with ebony string pins and belly shape. In the electronics section, Taylor`s own Expression System. It consists of Taylor under-saddle pickup and a preamp. They are controlled through a side-mounted control panel. The neck is made of tropical mahogany and it features a dovetail joint to the body. The headstock is a separate part and it is attached to the neck with a scarf joint. The fingerboard is made of ebony and it features 20 frets, mother-of-pearl inlays, 1.75" wide TUSQ nut and 15" radius. 25-1/2" scale and gold plated Taylor tuners wrap the specs.
