Taylor`s catalog features a series called specialties and it is reserved for experimentation with new materials, technologies and construction solutions. Within this series is also a Baritone sub-series, which consists of two models, 6-string and 8-string. These baritones sport 27" scales with the rest of the specs being more or less conventional for Taylor guitars. 8-string has one more unique feature, as it`s third and fourth strings are doubled. It comes with a grand symphony body shape with a single cutaway. Rosewood is the material of choice for the back and sides, and it`s topped with spruce sound board. Bridge on this model is made of ebony and the neck is made of tropical mahogany. Electronics area features Taylor Expression system, while the ebony fingerboard sports 20 frets with dot inlays.
