AB series basses offer high tone quality and affordable price tags. AB40 is among the upper class ABs and it comes with a classic single cutaway designed body. It is fully hollow and it`s main feature is the sound hole which consists of multiple parallel holes. Back and sides on this model are made of maple and are combined with spruce top. Vintage colored AB40 comes with high gloss finish and abalone binding around the sound board. Bridge section on this model features a belly shaped bridge made of rosewood. In the electronics department Washburn installs a combination of under-saddle piezo pickup and a preamp. Control knobs are mounted on the top. Maple-made neck features a set-in joint. Rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 24 frets with dot position inlays.
