Travel Series Acoustic-Electric Guitars by Washburn
Rover is Wahsburn`s long-running line of travel-sized acoustic guitars. Short scales, minuscule bodies and minimalistic construction are the hallmark features of the Rover line. For 2015, the series` main model, RO10 has received an amplified sibling in the shape of the acoustic-electric RO10E. This super-affordable traveler comes with a non-cutaway body made of rosewood (featured on the back), mahogany (sides are made of mahogany) and spruce (sound board is, of course, made of spruce). Pear-shaped body is pretty shallow and does not take up a lot of space. Even the standard-sized rosewood bridge on the top looks huge, and takes up a significant percentage of the sound board`s surface. Beneath the sound board, Washburn installs the standard quarter-sawn scalloped spruce bracing, as well as the pickup/mic electronics system. The pickup is a regular piezo installed under the saddle of the bridge. Neck on this model is made of mahogany (a feature pretty much standard throughout the Washburn catalog) and is attached to the body via the dovetail joint. On its top, there is a 19-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Offset dot inlays, white binding and the bone nut (1.73" wide) make up the fingerboard. Set of die-cast chrome tuners wraps up the specs list.
