AMD 50 is placed within the Americana series of acoustic guitars in the Luna catalog, and represents the basic model of the series. The series itself is inspired by the rich tradition of American made acoustic guitars. All major shapes can be found on these models, with AMD being a cutaway dreadnought with a body made of rosewood back and sides and a solid spruce top. Multi ply herringbone binding around the top is complemented with a triple rosette around the sound hole. AMD 50 comes in natural color with gloss finish. The top also features a tear-drop shaped pickguard made of tortoise shell. The bridge on this model is made of ebony and it is equipped with belly shape, white string pins and white plastic saddle. As this is a fully acoustic guitar, there are no pickups, preamps or mics installed. This one is intended for the unplugged play. The neck is made of mahogany and it sports a comfortable contour with lots of grip and a dovetail joint at the 14th fret. The fingerboard is, to match the bridge, made of ebony and it has 20 frets with famous moon phase position inlays. 25-1/2" scale, 1.6252" wide string nut and chrome plated hardware complete the specs list for AMD 50.
