A-40S belongs to the popular A series, Aria`s premier series of classical guitars. Main characteristics of this intermediate-class series are solid tonewoods (basic models only feature solid tops), full-length scales (25-1/2") and traditional styling. Spruce and cedar tops are available on majority of models.
A-40S rocks spruce top, thus the letter "S" in its name. It is solid and it is accompanied by laminated mahogany back and sides. Black binding and circular rosette grace the top. The neck is made of mahogany and is enhanced with a truss rod. On top of it, Aria installs a standard 19-fret rosewood fingerboard (side dot markers, bone nut, classical frets, flat radius). A-40S has no electronics. Other major features include a rosewood bridge (bone saddle) and classical tuning pegs (gold-plated).
