BNJ50 is the five-stringed half of Ashton`s minute Bluegrass series, with the other half being comprised by an acoustic-electric mandolin named MDE200. This five-string banjo features no electronics and is made with a traditional country/bluegrass player in mind. Natural Satin is the only available color option.
BNJ50 starts off with a traditional banjo body made of mahogany back and sides, chrome-plated rim and Remo head. A chrome-plated armrest is also there. The neck, which runs through the body, is made of mahogany and it sports a traditionally fashioned back contour. On its top Ashton installs a 22-fret fingerboard with binding which matches the one around the body. Five banjo-style tuning pegs (mounted in traditional fashion) and two-piece bridge unit complete this affordable banjo.
