Collings 00 series models come with slightly shorter scales and wider necks than usual, but they also offer tremendous tone. 003 comes with a non-cutaway body made of east Indian rosewood back and sides with a sitka spruce top. The top on this model is equipped with ivoroid binding, tortoise pickguard and select abalone rosette. Bracing is scalloped and laid out in the prewar pattern to bring out the best from these guitars. The bridge is made of ebony, which is a standard feature for Collings acoustics. ebony string pins, pyramid shape and bone saddle complete the bridge. Neck is made of mahogany and attached to the body at the 12th fret. Ebony fingerboard comes with 20 frets and 1-13/16" wide bone nut. 24-7/8" scale and gold-plated Waverly tuners complete the specs.
