Just bought one, sounds great and definitely the most bang for the buck. Fishman electronics work and sound great
Bought this guitar after I had to sell my HD-28 to pay business expenses....(barf). I shopped GC pretty extensively before deciding on this one. Picked it because it had a much fuller sound, with more low end than the other guitars in the price range ($399.00). I think the rosewood sides and back are to thank for that. It is not by any means a replacement for my Martin but I found it to be closer than any of the Ibanez or Yamaha or Epi models I tried. Not that those were necessarily that bad, its just that this Fender sounded....fuller. Played it at a Christmas party last year, and when the musicians were done, we left our instruments in an empty room. Two of the guests, also players, were in the room later and one had picked it up and compared it very favorably to the others in the room. So, that to me says a lot. Very good workhorse guitar.
I had this guitar for about 3 weeks. Just took it back to guitar center this evening and returned it. I purchased a Takamine GJ72CE which is a major upgrade. Okay so here are the issue with the Fender DG-200SCE. 1.) Terrible build quality all the way from the neck to the bridge 2) The nut was nowhere close to being cut to the proper depth 3.) The intonation is way off and very noticeable after playing the instrument for several hours, 4.) The pickup is for the most part "TRASH" 5.) The frets are cheap, I wore my 7 and 11 fret down in three weeks "Not Good" 6.) The guitar is not very loud even when strumming hard with a heavy pick. 7.) It feels like plastic For a beginner this guitar would be terrible based on the fact that the action is very high. It will need about 100.00 worth of setup, a new nut cut, bridge filed down and a truss rod adjustment. Message to Fender... This guitar is total crap and you should be ashamed to put your name on this made in China junk.
