In an attempt to cover the students of classical guitars and offer them affordable instrument, Fender has introduced the 3/4 scale (23-3/10") MC-1 several years ago. The model proved to be very successful, selling huge quantities around the world. Simplicity, good playability and super affordable price were the key advantages of this little nylon-stringer. Non-cutaway classical body was made of laminated sapele and agathis (sapele was on the back and sides, while the agathis was on top), and was paired with a nato neck (a common maple substitute in the beginner class). Standard classical bridge was made of rosewood and had a synthetic bone saddle. Nato neck had a rounded profile and was 1.69" wide at the nut to make it easier on young players.
