Martin Guitars have introduced numerous updates to their catalog for 2012, and one of them is this Road Series DRS 2. It is a successor of highly acclaimed DRS 1 model. DRS 2 was unveiled at the NAMM Show this January, along with other novelties from Martin Guitars. DRS 2 kicks off with a non-cutaway dreadnought body made of solid sapele back and sides and solid spruce top. The top of this model is bound in black boltaron. Also, it features black plastic pickguard and single ring sound hole rosette. This model comes in natural color with satin finish. The bridge is made of black richlite with belly shape, white string pins and TUSQ string saddle. In the electronics section Fishman Sonitone preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup combo is featured. This is one of the more affordable Fishman amplification combos. The neck is made of rust stratabond and has low oval contour with mortise and tenon joint at the 14th fret. The fingerboard is made of black richlite and equipped with 20 frets, dot position inlays and 1-11/16" wide white corian nut. Other features include: 25-2/5" scale, chrome plated tuners and A-frame bracing. The MSRP for this model is set at $1,099.
