OM-28 Authentic 1931 comes as one of the novelties for the 2015 NAMM. It belongs o the distinguished Marquis series and targets the well-standing players with a taste in vintage guitars. Exceptional level of fidelity to the early 1930s Martin orchestra models is achieved through Martin`s own VTS system. VTS stands for Vintage Tone System and it is a fairly recently developed way to accurately pinpoint the looks and tone of the times long gone. OM-28 Authentic 1931 comes with a non-cutaway body (orchestra model shape, of course) made of solid Madagascar rosewood back and sides with a solid Adirondack spruce sound board on top. This combo guarantees a full, lush tone with a lot of warmth and excellent sustain. Top is bound in grained ivoroid and is covered with a tortoise pickguard. Sound hole features the classic multiple circle rosette with middle circle being made of grained ivoroid. In order to remain completely faithful to the 1930s appearance, tone and construction, Martin has excluded all forms and types of amplification for this exclusive orchestra six-string. Genuine mahogany neck is fit with a historically accurate 14th fret dovetail heel and barrel profile. Ebony fingerboard on its top is fit with a set of 20 frets with dot inlays. Waverly Butterbean tuners, 1.75" wide bone string nut, 25-2/5" scale and bone saddle on the ebony bridge wrap up the specs. List price set by Martin for this model is $8,499.00
