CWE is one of six currently active series within the Studio range. Its lineup is made up of five models, all made with cutaway bodies. Optionally, each model can be upgraded with conventional electronics or MIDI equipment. Starting prices range from 900€ to 2.434€ (R1 CWE starts at 900,83€). R1 CWE is one of the most affordable models in Ramirez catalog, designed by Jose Ramirez IV and updated by Amalia Ramirez. Laminated African mahogany is used for the back and sides, while the soundboard is made of red cedar (German spruce is offered as option). The neck is made of cedar (standard Ramirez neck) and is topped with a flat 19-fret ebony fingerboard. Other major features include a rosewood bridge, tusq (or bone) nut and gold-plated tuning pegs.
