Sofia S53C is named that way for two reasons. The first one is the scale length, which measures 53 centimeters in length, or 20-4/5". And the second is that it`s a Sofia model made of sapele and cedar. Sofia Sapele 53cm Cedar would be the full name. 20-4/5" scale is one of the shortest in the series, and also among all six-stringed classical guitars in the entire industry. It is both short and very rare. On the other side, sapele back and sides with cedar sound board on top is much more frequent. This model is bound in black, topped with a black pickguard and finished in gloss over the natural color. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s topped with a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard. Bridge is made of rosewood, as well.
