Norman Rio comes from the Macizas series and it is a fully acoustic nylon-stringer with non-cutaway body. List of materials for this one is very interesting, as it includes rosewood, Indian rosewood, ebony and cedar. Along with that, Rodriguez installs gold-plated tuning pegs and medium-sized luxurious frets. There are no electronics installed on this, or any other Macizas model, as Rodriguez didn`t want to obstruct the bodies and their natural tone with any kind of incisions and pickups. Body is made of rosewood back and sides with cedar sound board on top. Binding is made of Indian rosewood on this model. Bridge section features a standard rosewood bridge. Neck is made of cedar, as it is series` standard and it is topped with a 19-fret ebony fingerboard.
