Silent guitars are a very interesting concept, as they feature the size of regular acoustic-electric guitars, but lack their resonance. This is due to the fact that they don`t have bodies in conventional sense, only body frames. Central piece of wood stretches from the neck to the bottom of the body frame and it is equipped with a preamp for amplification. When unplugged, these guitars are ideal for practice and due to the lack of resonance, they can be used wherever. SLG110N is one such model and it comes from the CGS series in Yamaha catalog. Body is made of maple, frame is composite and the neck is made of mahogany. Neck is set-in and equipped with a rosewood-made fingerboard. 19 frets with no inlays complete the fingerboard.
