T Series features modern looking and modern sounding bass guitars made primarily for the younger generations of bass players. Double cutaway bodies, EMG pickups, slim necks and 24 frets are Cort`s attempt to get closer to the leading brands in this area. T55 is a new model for 2012 and it is a solid bodied double cutaway model with a body made of Agathis. Contoured top and white binding are complemented with black gloss finish. The bridge on this model is a fixed EB7 with five saddles, also featured on other five string models from the T Series. The pickup combo on T55 is made up of two active soapbar pickups, namely EMG40 HZ. They are placed one in the bridge and one in the neck position. They are controlled through EMG B-30 equalizer with one volume knob, one blend knob and two equalizer pots. The neck on T55 is made of three pieces of Canadian maple with a bolt-on joint, a feature present on many of Cort basses. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and is equipped with 24 large sized frets, dot position inlays and 15-3/4" radius. Other features include: 34" scale, die-cast tuning machines and black hardware.
